We’re just over halfway through 2024, and it was always destined to be a busy one for us—we launched into the New Year ready for it. For our biggest partnership, Atlassian, February this year marked their long-trailed server end of life. We’d been working with Atlassian towards this date for over a year, and we’re pleased to have supported many successful migrations from server to cloud, and as the world's largest Atlassian partner, to be positioned to deliver many more yet.
This year, The Group has been recognised for some great achievements, clinching the number one spot in Flexa’s most flexible medium-sized companies, winning another Atlassian Partner of the Year award, and to top it off, a 2024 King's Award for Enterprise to go with our earlier Queen's Award. We’re immensely proud of everything we’ve achieved so far this year, and it shows no sign of slowing down. There are a few more milestones we’re looking forward to achieving before the year is done.
I shared a blog post internally with employees back in February, bringing several points that I want to share with a wider audience about how we’re delivering the next stage of our evolution.
Firstly, a reminder that focus, clarity, and delivering what customers want are our guiding principles at all times.
Secondly, the goals that follow from these principles create moving targets, so in order to excel, we have to move with them—we’re never done making changes in the strive to respond to the changing world, and to be better. Better means delivering the right outcomes for our customers in response to that changing world and their evolving needs.
Finally, our ‘practices’ are about recognising and addressing common sets of customer interest. We believe that regardless of which technology ecosystem you’re working in, common problems—and our approach to solving them—can all be defined by the practices we share across the whole of the business.
Adaptavist started as just one brand (and a much smaller team!) back in 2005, and by 2021, we were a robust mix of services and product offerings, all operating under the same name. We saw an opportunity to move faster and provide multiple parallel lines of focus allowing us to develop quicker, so our product businesses began to separate into their own brands, like Salable, ScriptRunner, Kolekti, Upscale, and Venue.sh. In 2022 we began to organise ourselves into a Group structure, and eventually, The Adaptavist Group was shared with the wider world: a family of brands all sharing the mission to make business work better. This evolution into The Adaptavist Group was the next step in providing investment, infrastructure, and support for multiple areas of deeper focus on client solutions.
I’m often asked about The Group’s structure and why we have so many brands. It’s true—The Group currently has more than ten individual identities within it, each with a different story behind it. They’re a mix of organic growth, acquisitions, and launches throughout our journey to fulfil specific customer needs. At this moment in time we have six brands dedicated to operating our incredible services offering around the globe. As we develop common systems, tooling, and approaches across those brands, their operations become more consistent, benefiting from the investment in scale.
I’m equally aware, though, that realising the benefit of these investments while explaining so many brands with slightly different, but similar, offerings may not be easy. We want to help our customers to understand and navigate our offerings in order to help them maximise their investment—both for those discovering us for the first time and those who have worked with us since the early days when we were ‘just’ Adaptavist.
As we continue to grow and evolve, we're ready for a new direction. Change is in our DNA, and we Adapt to it! (The clue is in the name). And to that end, I’m excited to share publicly the news that five of our service brands—Aligned Agility, Gravity Works, Nimaworks, Rozdoum, and veniture—will be merging under the name Adaptavist in September of this year.
We’ve already made large strides in converging their supporting systems, processes, and management structure as part of aligning their capabilities. Bringing the strengths of these teams together with one global Adaptavist identity will simplify our service offerings, provide an even better experience for our customers, and allow us to further align on delivering exceptional services and solutions across our five key practices—and beyond.
We'll continue to share updates about this change throughout the coming months and ensure that our customers are always kept informed. Watch this space!
