Atlassian will end OpsGenie sales on June 4, 2025. Consider migration options, with Adaptavist offering support for a smooth transition.

Atlassian has announced it will end sales for OpsGenie, its alerting and incident response tool, on 4 June 2025. If you're currently using OpsGenie for incident management, now's the time to think about migration. Here, we take a look at your options and explain how Adaptavist can help make the transition as smooth as possible.
What's the news from Atlassian?
On 4 March, Atlassian let the genie out of the lamp to announce it's sunsetting OpsGenie as a standalone product, with sales ending officially on 4 June. Support for existing customers will continue for two years until 5 April 2027.
For incident management, Atlassian will be focusing its efforts on bringing customers over to Jira Service Management (JSM) with some emphasis on Compass – Atlassian's out-of-the-box internal developer platform – for development-forward teams.
How will this affect you?
If you're currently a standalone OpsGenie customer, chances are you fall into one of the following three categories:
  • You've been with OpsGenie for a while, which means your implementation predated Atlassian's push for customers to adopt JSM instead.
  • You already use a non-JSM ITSM platform, like ServiceNow or Zendesk, so you've not been interested in using JSM purely for incident management.
  • Or you're keen to have an incident management platform, but you're not ready for the added cost of JSM or PagerDuty.
With OpsGenie no longer an option, the obvious choice for the majority of customers is to move to JSM, making the most of its incident management capabilities along with all its other features. Atlassian has created an automated migration tool to make this switch as simple as possible. However, this might not be the best fit for everyone.
Unsure about migration?
For most customers with relatively straightforward instances, automated migration will make sense. But if you're already set up on another ITSM platform, your OpsGenie instance is complex, or the cost of JSM is putting you off migration altogether, you might need a bit more support.
If that sounds like your organisation, then Adaptavist is here to help. Our OpsGenie migration services are designed to assess your unique situation and find the best solution so you can stay on top of incident management and your budget.
Our services include:
Fixed-price Discovery
Not sure if JSM is the right solution for you? We'll conduct a thorough assessment of your OpsGenie environment, usage practices, and any third-party integrations to figure out the best tooling solution for your needs. This service can also include a total cost of ownership analysis of available platforms to keep you on budget. Once you've selected a tool, we'll provide a detailed migration plan to help you make the move.
OpsGenie Standalone Migration
Ready to migrate? We provide standalone migration packages, helping you move your process, customisations, and integrations to a new incident management solution. Whether you're looking to go ahead with JSM or another tool, we can put a plan in place and support you with implementation, migration, and onboarding—from communications to training.
The magic you need to migrate
OpsGenie is retiring, but that doesn't mean your proactive approach to incident management needs to. Our DevOps experts have helped customers of all sizes manage their OpsGenie and PagerDuty instances and data, migrating their configurations into a variety of incident management tools. That means we know the pitfalls and how to avoid them. And, more importantly, we know the benefits platforms like JSM can bring.
