BetaNXT was launched following Clearlake Capital and Motive Partners' acquisition of the BETA+ platform from the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG). As a result, it became the new umbrella brand for several established businesses owned by LSEG, including Beta, Maxit, and Mediant.

While this move marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter for BetaNXT, it also presented several challenges for the company to navigate, as every entity had its own hosting platforms, development tools, processes, and ways of working.

The challenge

Consistently managing innovation, risk, and security

The inconsistency of the existing architecture, some of which is in physical data centres, limited BetaNXT's ability to provision new products and services at speed while maintaining robust governance and security.

Addressing duplication and inefficiency

In many cases, multiple tools performed identical or similar tasks, leading to duplication of effort and operational inefficiency.

Aligning strategy with delivery

Inconsistencies in development tools, approaches, and the overall supporting infrastructure hindered BetaNXT's ability to align its business strategy with product delivery.

Responding and adapting quickly to change

BetaNXT needed an infrastructure to support agile development and teamwork to meet changing customer demands.

Our biggest challenge was achieving consistency. Without a standard approach across our infrastructure and tooling, it was difficult to make informed decisions, track progress accurately, and respond to client requests as quickly as we wanted to.

Ultimately, BetaNXT realised that building a scalable, standardised, and secure infrastructure would give it an edge in the rapidly evolving fintech market and lay the best foundation for future success.

The solution

To move to a new infrastructure, BetaNXT first had to transition from the existing LSEG platform and end its transitional service agreements (TSAs). With the help of Adaptavist, they achieved this goal well ahead of schedule.

Paul explains, ‘The earlier we moved off the LSEG platform, the more cost savings we could make. And while it was pretty stressful at times, working in partnership with Adaptavist, we managed to migrate six months ahead of schedule—a fantastic result!"

In parallel with its transition from the LSEG platform, BetaNXT collaborated with Adaptavist to select the right solution to power its new infrastructure.
