Confluence theming at its best
Discover how Confluence theming has aided Nationwide Building Society in the increase of their employees user engagement and training.
The context
Nationwide Building Society, with turnover of £30 billion, was looking to switch over to Confluence to better capture product and service knowledge to support their 16.3 million members. We knew that any change had to be non-disruptive, as the bank had 12,600 users and 603 branches. Their current system was costing £2 million a year.
The process
Working with their project leads, we identified that the current system was split into three separate sections, all focused on different aspects of the business and required 20 editors to oversee. There was a high risk of work duplication, and time was lost on unproductive tasks.
Understanding the importance of familiarity when trying to ensure rapid adoption, we worked to create a theme for Confluence that felt natural for Nationwide Building Society users. The experience had to be as simple as possible, with a look and feel similar to their other branded systems so it was neither jarring or confusing.
In just three months, we were able to migrate the whole team over to Confluence, while successfully theming their instance to better improve user experience and celebrate the brand values. We achieved this while simultaneously providing over £1 million in cost savings over their previous system.
