A closer look at the latest AI offerings from monday.com, and what they mean for your work management practice and beyond.

We all want to be efficient in our work, collaborating seamlessly with minimal frustration. Unfortunately, data silos and inadequate tools mean that's not always the case. Luckily, AI-powered advancements from monday.com set a new standard, helping boost productivity and streamline teamwork.
Here, we look closer at the latest AI offerings from monday.com, what they mean for your work management practice and beyond, and how Adaptavist can help you start reaping the benefits.

Work smarter, not harder, with AI advancements

AI developments embedded into some of the world's leading communication, productivity, and work management tools are changing how work gets done. From the automation of manual tasks to support from AI agents that condense and organise large volumes of data, break down complex tasks, and learn as they go.
Leading organisations are embracing these tools to improve efficiency, drive productivity, and make sure their skilled workers have the time to focus on value-creating work (rather than the boring stuff). From Atlassian Intelligence and Rovo to monday.com, SaaS leaders are responding in kind, pushing the envelope of what AI can do for us so we can get on doing what we do best.

New features to free you up

At Elevate 2024, monday.com got us all excited about the AI developments they had in the pipeline, and now we're starting to see the fruits of their labour with monday AI. New features are being previewed and released rapidly, with AI functionality integrated right where you need it.
Meet AI Blocks
AI Blocks – currently available's primary AI offering – is a set of pre-built AI functions that are accessible and integrated into your workflow. Set up a monday board with AI Blocks, and it will automatically handle repetitive or data-intensive tasks while you focus on the more important stuff. Actions can be customised to specific projects; you don't need deep technical expertise to implement or use them.
AI Blocks get their context from your work data. You choose the input – from emails and documents to board column data – and tell the AI what you want it to do and where to locate the output.
Current functions include:
  • Categorise – to organise your data at scale, filtering it by type, urgency, or sentiment.
  • Extract info from files – a fast and accurate way to bring requested data from PDFs, text columns, or documents together where you need it.
  • Detect sentiment—Instantly understand the overall tone of a piece of text, whether it's positive, negative, or neutral, helping you take the proper next steps.
  • Summarise – cut down on complexity by asking monday.com to summarise topics, extract key information from documents, and highlight immediate actions.
  • Translate – don't miss a beat, even if you don't speak the same language as colleagues, collaborators, or customers. Use AI Blocks for accurate translation and localisation and be truly global.
You can even use monday.com's custom block feature to create an automation unique to your organisation. Simply write any prompt in your own words, and AI will take care of the rest.

Want to learn more about AI on monday.com?

Our recent webinar explored how AI is revolutionising the platform. It's packed with insights from industry experts to help you elevate your productivity and a sneak peek at the latest features.
The benefits of AI Blocks
Work management challenges largely stem from inefficiencies in communication, tools, and processes, from digital interruptions that reduce productivity to departmental silos creating bottlenecks. Information is often disconnected and hard to find, and managing time-sensitive updates can be tricky when crucial information needs to be distributed accurately and quickly across the organisation.
Overcoming these challenges and managing large-scale projects requires intelligent automation, visibility in real-time, and proactive risk management. With AI Blocks, you can be even more efficient, identify potential delays, and reduce admin—even with limited technical knowledge.
Here are a few examples:
  • Automate repetitive tasks–categorise project data, summarise key takeaways to move forward, and trigger the following steps automatically in your workflow.
  • Avoid endless data sifting–AI Blocks can scan notes, updates, and documentation, giving you the essential details you need rather than wasting time working through data.
  • Be proactive with risk—Use AI to keep on top of scheduling conflicts and potential bottlenecks so you can address any problems before they arise.

What's next?

monday.com isn't done just yet. With an AI-first approach to product development, there's lots more to come to help you speed up processes and streamline your workload.
Product Power-ups
Product Power-ups are AI capabilities embedded across monday.com's suite of products, set to launch imminently for risk management. They're designed to help you tackle critical challenges. Alongside risk management, these include resource management, CRM data automation, and real-time service ticket resolution.
And what will they be able to do? Planned capabilities include automatically ranking best skill matches for tasks and reassigning them or identifying project issues that could cause delays if left unattended. They're designed to help teams make critical decisions faster and make your projects more predictable and manageable.
Digital Workforce
Billed as "Your own AI team of specialists,” Digital Workforce is monday.com's agentic AI offering. Like Atlassian Rovo, its team of specialised digital workers is being created to handle your tasks, even when sleeping. For example, the "Project Analyzer" will be able to manage hundreds of projects, monitoring them in real-time, flagging bottlenecks, and providing insights to keep everything on track.
The first member of this team, set to launch in March 2025, is Monday Expert—an AI agent that can help onboard new users so they can learn how to use the platform. After describing your problems and needs to the agent, the agent will be able to customise boards and workflows and provide guidance on how to carry out specific tasks.
